YouTube is the ultimate marketing tool that you should have in your arsenal of tools, hands down. But sometimes you have to use a little creativity when promoting free ebooks and actually getting people to watch your videos. So I am going to give you some quick tips that you can use to promote any free ebooks that you have available.
Step 1: Make sure you have put your free eBook together properly. Anytime you are offering a free product its purpose is to drive traffic to a specific destination. So it is important that you do this properly by branding your eBook and including the proper links in the proper locations.
Step 2: Create a video for your ebook. There are many different ways that you can approach this you just have to choose a method that works the best for you. You can use a digital camera or a webcam and do a video review of your eBook explaining what the product is all about and how your viewers can benefit from the ebook. Or if you don’t have a digital camera or a webcam you can always create a screencast video of a slideshow presentation. If you want to do a screencast video then you can use Jing, which is free.
Step 3: You have to use those keywords. Keywords are really important when it comes to YouTube videos because that is the only way that people will be able to find your video. So do a little keyword research for your topic and include about 5-10 highly targeted keywords for your video. If you want to research keywords based on daily search volume then you can use the free Traffic Travis keyword tool.
Step 4: Construct the description of your video. Any time you are using video marketing as a promotional tool you want to put together a video description that serves the same purpose as a sales copy. You want to talk about the product and it’s benefits and when your viewers are ready to download you want to lead them to the download link. Now the thing is you don’t want your description to be too long because your viewers won’t have the patience for that.
Step 5: Make good use of the annotation feature. The thing that I like about posting YouTube videos is the freedom to annotate your videos. In using this feature you want to create an annotation that displays the link to your website where the eBook can be downloaded. Now you don’t want to do this with any affiliate links, but it will work just find with basic links.
If you follow these simple steps and add a pinch of creativity you will have people rushing to download your eBook in no time at all!
